Every afternoon, nearly 50 children from Grades 1–8 come together to receive educational support, a warm meal, creative activities, and the care of trusted adults who believe in their potential.

At Siyaphumelela, success is not measured only by grades. It is found in confidence, kindness, curiosity, resilience, and the courage to dream.
Located in the township of Nemato, Port Alfred, South Africa, the Siyaphumelela Centre provides children with a safe environment to learn, play, grow, and simply be children.
A Community Growing Together
What began with just four children and a shared vision has grown into a vibrant community.
Thanks to the dedication of Veliswa, the local team, and generous supporters, Siyaphumelela now welcomes nearly 50 children every day.
With classrooms, daily educational support, meals, sports, creative activities, and an international volunteer programme, the centre continues to evolve—always hand in hand with the community it serves.
