SIYAPHUMELELA
AFTER SCHOOL CARE CENTRE
August 2023, we launched the Siyaphumelela After School Care Centre in the township of Port Alfred. The Non-Profit- Organisation is a learning centre that offers children with poor backgrounds a holistic support in their development.
What do we do?
The first big step was to create a building for the centre.
a safe place that takes the children off the streets, protects them from the weather, where they can feel secure and at home. And most importantly to create an environment where they can learn and dream without limits.
The focus is on education, as school conditions often do not allow for individual support. In addition, the children get the opportunity to learn English, a skill that is crucial to improving their lives. But also their physical well-being is taken care of, through sport, healthy eating, and creative activities.
We aim to inspire them, provide them with a perspective, and show them that they can achieve anything – with collaboration, a clear vision, a lot of passion and trust.
